A SKELETAL baby is cradled by his mum after a desperate trek across famine-ravaged Somalia to find him food. Tiny Mihag Farah is one of 800,000 children at risk of starvation in the Horn of Africa.
He was hours from death when mum Asiah and his four siblings made it to a north Kenya refugee camp after walking for a week from their drought-stricken Somalia home.
The seven-month-old weighs 7�lbs - as much as a newborn and a third of what he should. Doctors now give him a 50 per cent survival chance.
Some 11.6 million people are going hungry in Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia. But 3.7 million in Somalia are the worst hit as al-Qaeda-linked militant group al-Shabaab refuses to allow aid workers in. The UN will airlift rations in this week. Officials yesterday warned 3.5 million
Kenyans will also need food aid by September.
