NPP's John Kumah Arrested

Peacefmonline.com can confirm that Spokesperson for the Young Patriots, the youth wing of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been picked up by security officers. Peacefmonline.com sources say the vibrant NPP youth activist was arrested just as he was about to walk into the studios of Adabraka-based HotFM to partake in a political discussion programme. An NPP activist, Yaw Adomako Baafi, who was with him at the time of the arrest, confirmed the news to peacefmonline.com. According to him, four policemen accosted the NPP activist saying he was wanted at the Police Headquarters for interrogation. Though the reason for his arrest is unclear, peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that the outspoken NPP Young Patriot will be charged with offensive conduct and might be processed for court tomorrow, Thursday. John Kumah was in the news lately when at a recently held press conference, he warned the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) against consistently maligning the NPPs presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo through malicious rumours and vicious lies. Whiles challenging the NDC to produce a scintilla of evidence of corruption or impropriety of any kind against the partys flagbearer, if they have any, he reiterated the NPP's resolve not to continue to run a decent issues-based campaign while opponents of the NPP run amok ridiculing Nana Akufo-Addo and denting his image criminally without regard for fairness and decency. Only last week, John Kumah, on an Accra radio station Asempa FM, accused President John Mills of being a gay in a reaction to a similar allegation made against the NPP Head of Communication Nana Akomea by an NDC official. It is not clear if John Kumah was arrested because of this pronouncement.
