Press Statement: No University No Vote In 2012 !

We members of Brong Ahafo Youth for Progress and Development are calling on our President John Evans Atta Mills to tell him this: Honour your promise to build a university for us in Brong Ahafo Region or forget about us campaigning for you in 2012. We are also calling on President Mills to remove the Regional Minister, Mr Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo who is an obstacle to progress and unity in the region. We wish to remind the President that the people of the region expect a university on a compound with physical structures, faculties and facilities similar to other universities round the country. The idea of sharing facilities with Sunyani polytechnic and other schools in the region, which are already congested is not right and not acceptable. How can that be called a university? Has the president visited the Catholic University in the region to see what a university should look like? We wish to remind our president that we were promised the first intake in September ,2011 yet till now no we have no idea about the faculties, lecturers, teaching assistants or the courses. President Mills, we campaigned for you and your party in the villages, in the streets ,in the markets, in the churches and in schools, we sacrificed our energies, our time, our schooling, our families, our work on plantations and farms yet we have nothing to show for it. The Regional Minister Mr Nyamekye Marfo can keep the money from Accra and share it among his executives. No amount of money and gifts will move us. We want a University in the Brong Ahafo Region and we want it now! A word to the wise is enough.
