NDC To Expel Samuel Abane

Information Reaching the Daily Guide newspaper from a reliable source says, Samuel Abane, whose voice is alleged to have been captured in one of the controversial media grooming saga audio clips, will soon be expelled from the regional communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East. According to the source, who pleaded anonymity, the leadership of the party in the region is confused over allegations that some party members had taken steps to persuade certain media practitioners to champion the cause of government at all cost. They are not happy with the alleged distribution of National Youth Employment Programme appointment letters to some media practitioners. My brother, it is a big blow to us, I must confess, the source said. He has denied the voice on the clip is his but what of his name, which he himself mentioned in that clip. I accept his claim, but I can assure you that he will be expelled from the communication team soon, he alleged. Meanwhile an eyewitness has told Daily Guide that there was a serious verbal exchange between NDC social commentator, Amos Awinzor and that of the New Patriotic Party, Simon Ali after a radio discussion programme on Radio A1 after several rounds of discussion on the alleged media grooming saga on Thursday, August 4. Some months ago, the same forecourt of Radio A1 witnessed a bloody fight between Samuel Abane of the NDC and Johnson Ayine of the Peoples National Convention, after a radio discussion which also bordered on a comment made by a Deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. Radio phone-in-callers, who have access to Oman FM through the internet, have been calling into programmes aired on some radio stations in the Upper East regional capital, Bolgatanga, to describe the NDC Government as insensitive to the plight of the youth of the region. These follow the exposure of an alleged meeting between Baba Jamal and some media practitioners to discuss how they would be motivated to champion the cause of government through their various media ahead of 2012 general election as well as the alleged distribution of NYEP appointment letters to those media practitioners. Most of the callers feel there are many unemployed youth in the Upper East region that should have benefited from the NYEP and not media practitioners and NDC social commentators, as currently being discussed in the media. On Thursdays edition of the Day Break Upper East on Radio A1, NPP representative, Simon Ali, said if the voice on the alleged media grooming tape turns out to be that of Baba Jamal, then the President and the entire NDC will have to apologize to youth of Upper East for denying them jobs and also remove the deputy information minister from office for disappointing Ghanaians. He says though the voice was that of Baba Jamal talking under tone, he is giving him the benefit of the doubt, considering the level of shame and disgrace that could befall him if it is found that he is the really one. Jamal has so far denied that it was his voice on the alleged tape.
