BNI Is After Us - Konadu Boys

The leadership of the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (FONKAR) have threatened that, hence forth, they are prepared to lay down their lives to resist any attempt to discredit them, usurp and destroy the legacy of Jerry John Rawlings. Speaking at a Press Conference in Accra yesterday to react to what they termed the unlawful arrest of some of their members in Accra, Cape Coast, and Agona West, FONKAR said, the act is shameful, cowardly, irresponsible, very bad example to the youth of today and blatant abuse of executive power. The case of George Boateng who was arrested by the National Security Apparatus remained a misery as he is yet to be charged, as well as Seth Birikorang and Yusif Baba who were severely beaten and abused by macho men hired by the Agona West Municipal, Chief Executive and the NDC constituency chairman and were detained beyond the mandated 48 hours According to them, despite the intimidation, they will unabatedly continue to display uncommon resilience in the face of the unwarranted provocations that has been occasioned by unsavory politicians who are supposed to know better. Members of FONKAR also put on record that no individual or group of persons can dissolve or ban FONKAR - our founding principles are still relevant and we will continue to do what we know doing best and dam the consequences. FONKAR has never claimed to be an official organ of the NDC and we will continue our activities without fear or favour
