Mills Is obliged To Use Presidential Letter Head In Private Matters - Tony Aidoo

Head of Evaluation and Monitoring Unit at the Presidency, Dr. Tony Aidoo, says it is fairly legit for President John Evans Atta Mills to use a Presidential letter head when corresponding in his private capacity. President Mills is said to have engaged in a private agreement with real estate developer, Regimanuel Gray Limited, regarding the construction of an outhouse for the security detail at his private residence at Asanfra Street in the Platinum section of the Regimanuel Gray Estates on the Spintex Road. Some have questioned the decision of the President to do such after the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho, told newsmen that the president will be personally responsible for the payment of the rent involved. Regimanuel Gray is bearing the initial cost and per the tenancy agreement, the president, would make good the repayment to Regimanuel Gray, he said. But speaking to Shamima Muslim on Citi FM during Eye Witness News, Dr. Tony Aidoo said the president did so because he is always particular about and very careful in handling issues bordering on his private matters and that of the government. this man has been very careful unlike other Presidents to keep his private business away from government businesshe said. Asked if President Mills can use a Presidential letter head to write his private letters, Dr Tony Aidoo answered in the affirmative. Yes he can, after all, how are you going to trace the address of the President if you dont know his office and if you dont know where he lives? He writes the letter on a presidential letter head; does he have a private letter head? For the time that he is the President, he is entitled and indeed obliged to use a Presidential letter head, he said.
