Power Will Not Elude NDC In 2012 Chairman

Alhaji Ibrahim Yussif Andani, TamaleCentral Constituency Chairman of the Natrional Democratic Congress (NDC), has observed that political power would not elude the Party in 2012 due to the excellent execution of its Better Ghana Agenda. He said winning political power was based on addressing the concerns of the electorate and implementing programmes that would benefit the citizenry, and claimed that the NDC had done enough to deserve another term. Alhaji Andani told the GNA in Accra on Friday that, The wind of victory for the NDC in 2012 is already hanging in the air and we need to do everything to ensure that the people continue to embrace the good governance that President John Evans Atta Mills is offering them. He said the electorate in Tamale Central, were prepared to vote overwhelmingly to retain the NDC and its Member of Parliament, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini because the development projects were enough to justify their decision not to opt for any party other than the NDC. Alhaji Andani described Alhaji Fuseini, who is also Deputy Minister of Energy, as a very competent person who had performed excellently in the constituency saying, I am 100 per cent sure that he would win the seat in 2012 by a landslide. Alhaji Andani said the MP had embarked on major infrastructure development in the area, which had convinced him that the people would never reject the NDC and its Parliamentarians. He mentioned some on-going development projects initiated by the MP to solve the infrastructure needs of the people as a 12-unit two-storey classroom block for the Queen Elizabeth Day Nursery being funded under the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GET-Fund) estimated at about GH417,000. The three-unit classroom block and a six-seater KVIP for Saint Joseph's JHS at GH228,000 and three-unit classroom block built with funds from the District Wide Assisted Projects (DWAP). The others are a six-unit classroom block including KVIP, an office and a store for the United Primary School at GH150,000, a clinic for the Moshie Zongo Community at GH73,000 and funded by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and construction of a 20-seater public toilet each at Salamba and Lamakara-Zogoli fenced at GH112,000 each from the reserved funds of the District Assembly's Common Fund. Alhaji Andani said, With this massive infrastructure development in a constituency, I am convinced that all constituencies are doing same so that the Governments mandate would be renewed. He said the Government's Better Ghana Agenda" was on course and appealed to Ghanaians to remain patient and renew the Government's term to continue with its development agenda since the NDC was a listening Government. What is important is to address the concerns of Ghanaians to justify the confidence they reposed in President Mills and the NDC in 2008 to govern the country, Alhaji Andani added.
