Obour Takes Office September 8

Newly elected Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) president, Bice Osei Kuffour known in showbiz as Obour, will be officially inaugurated into office on Thursday, September 8 in Accra. The event which is scheduled to take place at the MUSIGA Headquarters will mark the end of out-going president, Diana Hopeson�s administration and the beginning of Obour�s 4-year term at the helm of affairs of the musicians� body. The out-going MUSIGA National Youth Organiser, Obour, beat three others, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Nana Tuffour and Willie Roi after last Thursday�s elections at the MUSIGA congress held at the Radath Memorial Centre in Tamale. He polled 64 votes while Nana Tuffour had 51 votes, Ambolley 24 and Willie Roi 2. The inauguration ceremony to be under the theme; �Kick-Starting the Rebranding Agenda� was carved out of Obour�s campaign promise of �Rebranding Musiga and Making Musicians Wealthy�. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to attract members of the past and present MUSIGA administration, musicians, personalities in the entertainment industry, politicians, Corporate Ghana, the media and the general public. MUSIGA has also lined up several other activities to usher in its new president. They include a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam on Friday, August 26, a thanks-giving service on Sunday, August 28 at Winners Chapel and an inaugural reception on September 9. These activities will be climaxed by an inaugural church service on September 11.
