SOME MEMBERS of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sunyani East constituency of the Brong Ahafo have expressed their joy over the way people in the constituency have embraced their campaign strategy and pledged to vote for the party in 2012.
The party members who were on a journey to win �souls� for the NPP visited areas like Tonsuom Estate and Newtown on Sunday after their regular Sunday meetings to tell them the good things the NPP had in store for them and Ghana when voted into power in the 2012 general elections.
They moved from house to house and interacted with residents preaching the �gospel� of the New Patriotic Party to them.
Some of the residents who had vowed not to vote again for any party had their minds changed due to the inspiring campaign message from the party members.
A member of the campaign team, Akosua Acheampong said the party has good policies which can move the country forward and the best way to explain them for people to understand is to go to their doorsteps and interact with them.
She disclosed that this was part of the listening campaign which their presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo has started in the country. She said it will make it easier for people to understand their presidential candidate when he visits the region later on.
According to her, their party leaders had charged them to bring at least ten people each time they attend any of the group�s subsequent meetings so they used this opportunity to tell people what the NPP will do for them when it comes to power so that they would join them in building the party and the country in general.
She was happy with the way the people received them in their homes and also promised to attend subsequent party meetings with them.
�This will not be just a nine-day wonder. We will continue to visit all the homes in our constituency to explain NPP policies to residents for them to understand us very well and vote for us come 2012,� she reiterated.
The group called on the other constituencies to adopt the �soul winning soul� style to ensure the NPP to win the 2012 elections and relieve Ghanaians of their present suffering at the hands of the ruling NDC government.
