The marriage of former Tourism Minister Zita Okaikoi to her husband Andrews Okaikoi is in danger as both of them are concentrating on how to become Members of Parliament on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), drawing a wedge between them. Daily Guide can confirm that while Andrews Okaikoi has embarked on a fully-fledged campaign to win the NDC parliamentary primaries for Okaikoi North constituency, his wife, Zita, is also leaving no stone unturned to win the party�s parliamentary primaries for Dome-Kwabenya. Both seats are strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). Daily Guide�s checks revealed that the situation had resulted in a strained relationship between man and wife who have now gone their separate ways. Zita, reports say, has packed her belongings, grabbed their two children and left for her mother�s home at Haatso. She, once in a blue moon, grants Andrews access to see their children. Andrews, on the other hand, has also decided to ignore Zita�s departure and has therefore pitched camp at Tesano in the Okaikoi North constituency. He is said to have moved to one of his several houses in the constituency from where he runs his campaign. The couple seems to be competing about which of them has the best campaign strategy and who can raise more funds. Other interesting names that have popped up as prospective parliamentary candidates for the NDC in 2012 include the gun-wielding Carl Wilson, former chairman of the Confiscated Assets Committee. Carl Wilson is reported to be eyeing the Weija constituency seat but he is likely to be challenged at primaries by none other than Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Special Aide to the President and a former parliamentary aspirant for Odododiodioo constituency. Though Nii Lantey was initially thirsting after the Odododiodioo seat, he is reported to also have an eye for Weija in the event that a new constituency is created for the largest constituency in the country.
