NDC To Punish 'Stubborn' MP Aspirants

The National Democratic Congress, (NDC) has indicated that it will soon crack the whip on parliamentary aspirants who flout the partys guidelines on the conduct of its parliamentary primaries. The party warned that aspirants in constituencies with sitting MPs should not campaign until told to do so. But it appears this directive has been defied. There have been recent reports of some aspirants campaigning in some NDC held constituencies like Odododiodio, North Tongu, Ketu South, with names of Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa and Fifi Kwetey popping up. But National Oraganiser of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan told Citi News that the partys directive must be adhered to. He said the party will soon make public, the punitive actions it intends taking against such aspirants. He indicated that very soon I think the public would know the action that the national secretariat would take. "In fact, we have already sent a strong warning to prospective candidates who want to contest incumbent MPs or where we have a sitting MP, the time is not up yet. We want people to observe this directive that we have put out there. We are operating with human beings, some would want to flout the laws that we have set for ourselves and I think it is up to us to call them to order and that is exactly what we are going to do. He added that we have set up a team that is going to call all these people and warn them and if they continue to do it, we would crack the whip. "People would know that this time round we are very serious to instill discipline in this exercise that we are embarking on.
