Machomen @ Manhyia

THE MANHYIA Palace in Kumasi, the official seat of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was on Sunday temporarily turned into a gym for body builders. Machomen from all walks of life stormed the forecourt of the Asante Monarchs palace to show solidarity with the winner of TV3s Ghanas Strongest, Faisal Alhassan. Faisal got a cash prize of 100 million old cedis and a glittering trophy for his brilliant display. The Ghana Strongest winner, who was sponsored by MY Ventures, producers of food supplements, was at the palace to show his trophy to the Asante King, who sat in state at the Akwasidae festival. In his succinct address, Otumfuo warned Faisal to shun all immoral acts including womanizing now that he had become famous, urging him to lead an exemplary lifestyle. The King also cautioned Faisal and for that matter all body builders, not to use their strength to harass or intimate innocent people, but rather use it to promote Ghanas growth. The Asantehene implored machomen in the country to do away with every appalling lifestyle that had the potential to lead them into trouble and help maintain Ghanas peace. Nat Laryea, Manager for Sports at TV3 and Producer for Ghanas Strongest Show, said the show typifies strength and promotes healthy living, promising, it would be sustained and even grow bigger in future.
