Viasat 1 will broadcast the Miss Universe 2011beauty pageant on Friday, September 23 at 8pm. This year�s contest featured beauty pageant winners from around the world vying to become the world's most beautiful woman. A total of 89 women competed including Miss Universe Ghana Erica Nego.
The 2011 MISS UNIVERSE Pageant kicked off a series of worldwide events hosted by Brazil including the World Cup in the city of Sao Paulo. The two-hour event comprised of contestants representing approximately 90 countries around the world competing in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview.
Celebrities and experts who judged the pageant included Hollywood actress and producer Vivica Fox, Miss Universe 2003 Amelia Vega and Brazilian supermodel Isabeli Fontana.
For the first time ever fans in represented countries were able to vote for their favorite contestant for an automatic spot into the semifinals.
