Kweku Baako: Im Disappointed In Boakye Gyan

Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako, has expressed disappointment at the decision by one-time pal, Major (rtd) Boakye Gyan to contest a parliamentary seat on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing it as a wrong move. The former Spokesperson of the defunct Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC), Osahene Boakye Gyans decision to contest as the parliamentary candidate for Jaman South on the ticket of the NDC has been met with disdain and ardent criticisms. Some have even described his current move as hypocritical with others saying is a betrayal of his own acclaimed principles. Speaking on Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana show, Kweku Baako said though Boakye Gyan is old enough to decide on his own, his move came as a surprise to him, adding that the way I was disappointed when Freddy Blay decided to join the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the same way I am disappointed with Boakye Gyan. I am however restraining myself for the respect I have for the long-standing friendship I have with him, otherwise if I was to interrogate his move, it would be merciless, he said. A co-panelist on the show, Communications Minister, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, who was obviously not pleased with Boakye Gyans decision to pitch camp with his party, stressed that the party must subject Boakye Gyan to rigorous test of the NDCs constitution and his believes in the values and philosophy of the party. He added that the NDC must be convinced beyond measure that Boakye Gyan does meets all the requirements of the party, and sarcastically added that these are interesting times within the NDC and I think a number of decisions recently have not worked to the good of the party.
