Bukom Banku To Contest Odododiodoo Seat

Popular Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Kamoko popularly known as Bukom Banku has declared his intention to contest the Odododiodoo seat as an independent candidate. According to him, he will resign from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to pursue his independent political ambition. Braimah Kamoko, who is known better by his boxing name, recently called on President Mills to ensure that sanity prevailed in the Odododiodioo constituency where two heavyweights of the party - presidential aide Nii Lantey Vanderpuije and incumbent MP Nii Tackie Commey are fighting for the seat. Supporters of the two men have clashed more than once in the recent past. The Constituencys womens organizer was allegedly slapped and a gun allegedly brandished in one of those clashes. Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday September 30, Bukom Banku said his quest to rise above the petty politics within his party in the constituency is what is motivating him to go independent. I was a politician but this time I have quit, no more NDC politics. It is true, I will stand as an Independent candidate for the Odododiodoo constituency seat in the 2012 elections. Bukom Banku lamented the poor state of residents of the constituency pledging his desire to transform the lives of the people if voted as MP.
