Ghana To Play South Africa Friendly In January

Ahead of the start of the 2012 African Nations Cup, the Ghana Football Association has announced the Black Stars' pre-competition programme. Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic will present his 23-man squad for the tournament in Gabon-Equatorial Guinea on December 15, 2011 at a press conference in Accra. Following the squad announcement, the team will begin preparations in South Africa from January 7-19, 2012. The Black Stars in between the camping period will play the Bafana Bafana and a local club side in South Africa before departing for their base in Franceville, Gabon. Ghana's first 2012 African Nations Cup game in Group D will be against newcomers, Botswana on Tuesday January 24. The side will follow up their opener with fixtures against West African rivals, Mali four days later and Guinea on February 1. Both games will be played at the same venue. The three-week event will start on January 21 and end on February 12, 2012.
