Happy FM Mass Wedding 2012 Launched

Happy FM, the nations No. 1 sports station has launched its famed Mass Wedding celebrations for 2012 today. Ever the advocate for innovative initiatives, Happy FM, inaugurated the launch for the 2012 Mass Wedding, live on Nsem Pii its award winning morning show and Awake, eTVs much loved breakfast show simultaneously. Present at the launch were the members of the mass wedding organization committee namely, Nana Okukurubuor Agyeman, Chief of Dodowa who is also the committees charmain; Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, Managing Director of GMA, Mother Company of the Happy FM brand and Charles Osei Asibey, Happy FMs station manager amongst others. Also present was the 2010 mass wedding couple winners who had just returned from their all-expense paid-for, honeymoon trip to South Africa. Last year, more than 50 couples tied the knot at the Accra International Conference Centre in a grand ceremony, with Happy FM bearing all costs. The couples were then entered into a draw to afford them an all expense paid honeymoon trip to South Africa and/or Nigeria. Speaking at the launch, Mr. Agyeman commented that Every decision taken in this company is one with our community in mind. For this launch, we wanted to create an equal access channel for all and sundry. We want as many eligible couples as possible to realise their dreams. This is what the mass wedding is all about; sharing and celebrating love. Todays event marked the official opening for interested couples to register. Registration will be open for two weeks. The Happy FM Station will serve as the only registration point requiring only GHC 200.00 per couple as registration fee. Eligible couples will then go through the usual mandates for any couple, including counselling by veteran marriage counsellors, personal grooming and beauty classes and cooking sessions in order to prepare them for their commitment to a life together. The mass wedding event, over the years has wed over a 100 couples enabling them the luxury of a union they otherwise could not have afforded. The ever increasing number of registered couples attests to the growing interest of the public who have acknowledged the event as one of the best and consequential social investment by a corporate institution. Registration is now open to the general public and will end on the 2nd of December, 2011. The main event is slated to happen on the 14th of February, 2012 on Valentines Day as has been the tradition.
