Ambushing Nana Addo For His Running Mate...Odartey-Wellington Shames Akyem Mafia

A subtle attempt by certain close relatives of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to force Dr. Felix Odartey-Wellington on the New Patriotic party (NPP) Presidential candidate as his running mate has backfired. The close relatives, popularly called the Abuakwa Mafia a fortnight ago started serious media blitz on behalf of Dr. Odartey-Wellington, making it to look as if Nana Addo was going for a Ga as running mate with the young intelligent lawyer par excellence as his obvious choice. However, it has emerged that Dr. Odartey-Wellington, currently serving as Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication, Cape Breton University, Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, was never consulted before the moves started. The Enquirer newspaper is reliably informed by flawless multiple sources within the NPP that the idea was hatched by Nana Addos relatives, who are close associates of Dr. Odartey-Wellington. To dissociate himself from the grand agenda, Dr. Odartey-Wellington, in a terse reaction to the selected media houses that were used for the blitz, said that he has never expressed any interest in such position. According to the gentle lawyer and astute scholar, by all standards, he has never declared an interest to partner Nana Addo in the 2012 elections, adding the assertion in laughable. The interest of groupings within the NPP, in connection with the running mate, played a major role in the defeat of the party in 2008. Certain key personalities were not enthused with the choice of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the time. There were even rumours that he was planted on Nana Addo by his close relatives some of who are the very people who initiated the move to hype Dr. Odartey-Wellington. The NPP, however, has sworn that no grouping within the party would be allowed to ambush Nana Addo over his choice for running mate for 2012. **** Odartey Son Slaps Rawlings Source: Daily Guide Mon, 24 Nov 2008 Felix Odartey-Wellington, son of one-time Army Commander, Maj.
