Ghana Midfielder Kumordzi Moves To Join Dijon

Ghana midfielder Bernard Yao Kumordzi will arrive in France on Thursday for a medical with French Ligue 1 side Dijon, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt. Kumordzi has been playing for Panionios for the past four seasons and was pushing to leave the club. In July, the Greek top flight side rejected a reported 135,000 euro loan offer from Ligue 2 side AS Monaco. The 26-year-old is expected to seal his move before the end of the week and be ready for action after the winter break. I think that will be a very big challenge for me because people never had the chance to watch me play when I was in Greece and now that people will watch me, I will have to prove myself, Kumordzi said. Dijon, promoted this term, want to strengthen their squad to maintain their top flight status for next season. Head coach Patrice Carteron has been chasing the 26-year-old for the past four months. Dijon lie in 14th place on the 20-team French Ligue 1 table.
