Beccas Xmas Bluff

When irresistible Afro-pop singer Becca dropped news about her plan to host an all-girl concert last month, many concert enthusiasts may have flipped it off as a mere gimmick. Of course, why not?, many enthusiasts must have asked. Afterall wasnt Red Lipsticks, a similar all-girl concert, successfully staged recently? Well, the Becca Girl Talk live concert comes off tomorrow Friday at the National Theatre and observers are closely watching to see whether Becca can pull off her bluff to make the show exclusively female. No guys, no boyfriends, no menThis is the ultimate girls night out, says the concerts catch phrase. Considered on face value, not only will this show feature only women performers, it will also be watched by an all-female audience. Impossible!, was the first response of one regular concert goer. You mean we buy the tickets for our women and drop them off to watch the show alone? That looks like it. No boyfriends, no husbands, absolutely no male company. It may also mean that bandsmen lights and sound crew will all be women. Tickets checkers and bouncers too! And of course security women who will be tasked presumably to body search any male who presents himself as a woman. The concert itself, which Becca says is meant to celebrate sisterhood, will feature Becca and a string of exciting guest performers.
