Woyome Saga: NDC Youth Threaten To Resign From Party...

The Volta Youth for Action in the Ho East Constituency has threatened to resign from the National Democratic Congress if President Mills does not arrest past government officials indicted in the EOCO report. The EOCO presented an interim report on the judgment debt scandal to the President last Thursday. NDC bankroller Alfred Agbesi Woyome was arrested last Friday by the Police CID after being implicated in the report. Top CID agents probing the millionaire philanthropist's role in the controversial 51 million-cedi judgment debt saga refused him bail on Friday night despite pleas from his lawyers that he should be admitted to self-recognisance bail. In an interview with Citi News, the secretary of the Group, Emmanuel Tokane said Woyome deserves better treatment from government. We want the President to make Osafo Marfo and other officials to face the full rigors of the law because we see no reason why someone who has subjected himself to thorough investigation to be at the Police headquarters when those who abrogated the contract are still there Mr. Tokane said. He added that they have to arrest them otherwise we the Volta Youth for Action will resign from the party and wont take in any party activity.
