Teye Nyaunu: I am Sick, Tired And Very Worried...

The outspoken Member of Parliament for Lower Manya, Michael Teye Nyaunu, has told The Globe newspaper the Woyome judgement debt saga has the potency to drive the Mills government out of power. Hon. Nyaunu called the saga a deep scar on the party conscience, saying no matter what the party does, it will make an indelible mark that may inform voting patterns this December. This is a deep scar on the party. No matter how they try to polish this thing it wont go away; this is a big shame on the party, Hon Nyaunu said in an interview. He said that had the Mills government listened to internal critics like him, things would not have gotten this bad, adding that he could not believe Betty Mould-Iddrisu didnt consult the President before giving authorization to the Minister of Finance to dish out money to Alfred Woyome. There is something wrong somewhere, he said. What is worrying now is that the tax payers money has been given to one person. So whoever is involved is not necessary. We want the money, he added. Stressing his point that the saga will affect the party drastically in the December polls, Hon Nyaunu said nobody should underrate Ghanaians as they are watching governments actions carefully. The government is behaving as if it has now come into power for the first time. We are mismanaging things as if we have never been in government and when people are talking too, we dont listen. Arrogance is being displayed at its highest peak and this is where it has brought us. I am sick, tired and very worried, he said. He said President Mills should fire anyone who has been indicated in the interim report submitted by the EOCO on the February 2, 2012. The President must be able to prove to Ghanaians that he has no hand in this and he doesnt entertain this gargantuan corruption. These are the things that Martin Amidu wanted to say and he was fired. All those who are involved must be prosecuted. Betty Mould-Iddrisu should have been arrested before Alfred Woyome. It is very shameful he added. He predicted that more events will be unfolding in the coming days because Betty Mould Iddrisu took the action with other government officials. For her to authorize the Finance Minister to pay and for the Finance Minister to write back to her, advising her to do due diligence on the documents only to be ignored, I dont think that Betty alone has got that authority to act the way she did. This is my suspicion. There is something more to the issue that beats our imagination. I am sick and tired of my party, he added.
