Make No Wrong Move - Nyaho Warns NDC

Ghanas former Ambassador to Serbia, Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has warned President Mills and his National Democratic Congress to abandon any scheme to manipulate the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections if they have the interest of the nation at heart. According to the leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party, any attempt by the ruling party to circumvent the popular will of the people could have dire consequences for the nations peace and stability because we are prepared to resist that move with all our might as enjoined by the constitution. Any move to twist the arms of the people will be strongly resisted and kicked against, he charged in an exclusive interview with the New Statesman. Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe believes the NDC in its desperate attempt to entrench itself in power will certainly attempt to employ some dirty tactics and political chicanery, knowing very well that public opinion at the moment is totally against them. He cited the decision by President Mills to ask the boss of the Ghana Statistical Services, Grace Bediako, to proceed on leave and attempt to rush through with the proposed creation of new districts and constituencies as part of the NDCs desperate moves to manipulate the electoral process to its advantage. The public know they have failed and do not have anything meaningful to offer the nation and that is why they want them out as soon as possible if not immediately. And this they are aware and I believe the national security has briefed the president about it, he stated. He had a word of caution for President Mills: I want to remind the president that a peaceful and stable nation was handed over to him by President Kufuor, and the whole nation and the entire world expect him to do same to the next president, which from all indications will be Nana Akufo-Addo. The leading NPP member noted that every indication points to victory for his partys presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, because Ghanaians are now convinced he is the right man to salvage the nation from the leadership paralysis and mal-administration it has been plunged into by President Mills and his cabal of clueless functionaries. Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe, however, acknowledged that dislodging the NDC from the corridors of power is not going to be an easy task, stressing: These are power-drunk people who would want to do everything, both fair and foul, to entrench themselves in power. He, therefore, challenged all members and supporters of the NPP to rise up and be prepared to sacrifice for the cause of the party, stressing: Ghanaians are crying out for political salvation and they know that salvation will come through the NPP with Nana Addo sitting on the Great Elephant carrying that glorious flag of victory.
