NDC Might Collapse - Nana Akomea

The Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has stated the cracks within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is so unprecedented that if steps are not taken to address the problems the ruling party will collapse. Nana Akomea told Citi News the communication machinery of the government should desist from dismissing the impact of a leaked strongly-worded letter by the NDC chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei, to President J. E. A Mills revealing the pain he is enduring in the hands of detractors within the party. Dr. Adjeis letter was leaked to the media on Tuesday in which among other things was stated that he [Adjei] could no longer put up with the ongoing and well-known divisive machinations and schemes that threaten to wreck the partys very survival. Speaking to Citi News, however, a deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said following a meeting with the President, Dr. Adjeis fears were allayed. However, speaking to Citi News on Wednesday, Nana Akomea, also a Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South, said despite the efforts to dismiss the effects of the letter, the NDC will continue to disintegrate ahead of the 2012 elections. Anything that comes from the Information Ministry to explain anything, we should take it with a pinch of salt. This letter shows clearly that the centre is not holding and the NDC party is in total disarray, Nana Akomea said. He added that it is clearly connected with the Woyome affair. Now if the government doesnt take steps to recover money paid to Woyome and to ensure that everybody involved in this gargantuan crime is brought to justice, the party will fall apart and the government will also fall apart.
