Ransford Osei Acquires SA Work Permit

Ghana international Ransford Osei has been granted work permit to play for South African giants Bloemfontein Celtic, the club announced on Thursday. Osei joined the side on a six-month deal after impressing on trials with head coach Clinton Larsen happy to give him a trial out following spate of injuries that has plagued his career. The 21-year-old is now in line to make his debut in the Absa Premiership when Celtic play host to Golden Arrow when the PSL resumes on Wednesday 15 February. Celtic boss Larsen says the player will be slowly introduced into the game because hes not fully fit. We actually picked up his registration card from the PSL yesterday [Wednesday] so he is eligible to play for us as of now, Larsen said He is probably only 75 to 80 percent fit though and we will probably not see the best of him until some way into March. He trained for us for a month before Christmas having just overcome a bout of Malaria, and then returned to work for us in our pre-season during this break in the League. We have been building him up slowly and it has been a bit of a process, but we are seeing an improvement in him every day and that is pleasing. The 2007 FIFA Under-17 World Cup silver shoe winner has struggled to meet expectations after failed stints abroad. Osei has played for Maccabi Haifa, FC Twente and Granada.
