The Member of Parliament for Sene, Felix Twumasi Appiah, has described NPP firebrand MP for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong, as a "radio parliamentarian" who is only loud in the media instead of articulating his issues on the floor of the House.
Mr. Twumasi Appiah explained that the MP does not speak in parliament but debates topical issues on radio stations and has been making wild allegations over the payment of judgement debt to some individuals in the country.
He said the MP was voted by his constituents to exercise oversight responsibility over government on the floor of Parliament, but not to sit on radio and debate.
"As a member of parliament, what are you doing on the floor of Parliament ... you have ignored this core duty and decided to be MP on radio", Twumasi stressed.
The MP said this in reaction to Kennedy Agyapong�s outburst that some people have allegedly benefited from Alfred Woyome�s undeserving judgment debt, including the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
Mr. Twumasi Appiah noted that Kennedy Agyapong, as a member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communications, should have raised this issue at the committee level.
He said, if the MP parades himself as a patriotic citizen, he should attend committee meetings and raise topical issues.
"Ken, as a member of the Communication Committee, has an oversight responsibility on GBC, but has never raised this issue at the committee level.
Kennedy Agyapong first broke the news on Adom FM�s Dwaso Nsem in December last year, alleging that a supposed NDC financier, Alfred Agbesi Woyome had been paid GHC58 million in judgment debt.
Reacting to the latest allegations by the Assin Fosu MP on Dwaso Nsem on Friday, Felix Twumasi Appiah said Kennedy Agyapong should have raised the purported payment of GGC5 million by Woyome to state broadcaster (GBC) at the Parliamentary Select Committee instead of running to the media to make a disclosure.
In a sharp rebuttal, Kennedy Agyapong questioned how frequent Twumasi Appiah who is the Chairman of the Communication Committee attends committee sittings.
He disclosed that Felix Twumasi Appiah is a habitual late-comer and often does not attend meetings, which sometimes compels the ranking member of the committee, Nana Akomea, to sit in his stead.
