Government Commended For Improving Wellbeing Of Ghanaians

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives of the Oforikrom Constituency, has sent a congratulatory message to government for alleviating the plight of the people through various pro-poor programmes and initiatives. They observed that the introduction of the Local Enterprises and Skills Development Programme, distribution of free school uniforms, books and computers, incentive packages for cocoa farmers, as well as provision of good roads and other infrastructural development had helped to consolidate the gains made under the Mills Administration. We have in the last three years monitored with keen interest efforts being made by the government to fulfill its promises to the people in spite of the numerous socio-economic challenges, the executives noted. This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Evans Ablordeppey, the Constituency Organizer, and issued in Kumasi on Saturday. It said research by the executives indicated that areas such as Aprade, Ayigya Zongo and Ahenbronum, Bomso, Deduako, Ayeduase, Akatego, Anwomaso, Boadi, Anloga and Kentinkrono-Oduom, which all fall within Oforikrom had seen modest improvement in infrastructural development. Projects undertaken in those communities in the last three years include provision of street lights and mechanized boreholes, classroom blocks, roads, toilet facilities and refuse dump containers. A considerable number of youth in the communities had also been given some form of employment to benefit them. The statement urged all NDC activists to work harder in their various capacities to retain the party in power as the nation prepares for the presidential and parliamentary elections.
