I Used To Hold Akomea In High Esteem...But His Lies Are Too Much - Y.B-Gyan

National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan says he is disappointed that the Director of Communications of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, a man he used to hold in high regard, has begun churning lies repeatedly in recent times. According to him, the NPPs Director of Communications is too fine a gentleman who carries a lot of respect politically to resort to the telling of lies. I am getting disappointed in Nana Akomea, he is a gentleman who carries a lot of respect but recently, anytime he speaks on radio or in the media, most of the things he says are lies, he said. He was reacting to claims by the NPP MP that the economic situation in the country has worsened under the NDC to the extent that a ball of kenkey now costs GH1, on Okay FMs Ade Akye Abia Morning Show. The President, John Evans Atta Mills on a surprise visit to some markets on Tuesday, tried to establish the fact that a ball of Kenkey is 50p and not 1 cedi as was claimed by Nana Akomea. President Mills visited the Maamobi, Nima and Mallam Atta markets, in Accra, and said that Government was committed to improving the welfare of Ghanaians. He later bought five balls of kenkey at GHc 2.50 from Madam Agartha Akpaloo to discount media report that kenkey was selling at GHc 1.00 in Accra. Commenting on the issue, Wofa Yaw, as he is popularly called, with deep sarcasm said the MP might have been ripped off by whoever he sent to buy him the kenkey. He appealed to the NPPs Director of Communications to be objective and speak the truth at all times since a lot of the youth see him as a role model. Nana Akomea is someone that the youth look up to in politics as a role model so I will plead with him to be truthful when he is speakingHe has an innocent face and people may be taken in by his liesWhen he is talking, he has this smile on his face which makes what he is saying look and sound so trueif you are not someone who is abreast with issues, you will believe whatever he is saying, Yaw Boateng-Gyan said.
