Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, says he will continue to work with every shareholder to ensure that the Bank maintains its hard-earned global reputation.
He will also together with the shareholders ensure the Bank’s credible and well-functioning institutional and governance systems are reinforced
In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, Dr Adesina lauded the support received from the Bank’s shareholders in recent weeks and pledged to work with everyone for the development of the African continent.
He maintains his innocence of allegations that unjustly seek to impugn his honour and integrity, as well as the reputation of the African Development Bank.
Dr Adesina said he has absolute confidence in the integrity of the Bank and its governance systems, rules, and procedures despite unprecedented attempts by some to tarnish his reputation and prejudice the Bank's governance procedures.
“I am confident that fair, transparent and just processes that respect the rules, procedures and governance systems of the Bank, and the rule of law, will ultimately prove that I have not violated the Code of Ethics of this extraordinary institution,” Dr Adesina said.
