The Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani has taken delivery of modern hospital equipment and other items worth millions of Ghana cedis.
They comprise two new mobile X-ray machines, CT scan, a C-Arm, examination lamps, pediatric colts, trolleys, surgical equipment, 40 bedside cabinets, hospital beds, mattresses and pillows.
The items form part of the 276 million dollar National Medical Equipment Replacement Project, being implemented in the country by the Ministry of Health and Belstar Development Limited, a United State of America-based Company.
Mr Harry Ameti, Project Coordinator, explained that under the project initiated in 2012, selected government and missionary hospitals, health centres and clinics were being supplied with the hospital equipment and logistics.
He said all operating theatres at the various regional hospitals would be stocked with modern logistics and equipment.
Dr Jacob Abebrese, Medical Superintendent, said the items had come at the right time and commended the government for them.
