Studies have shown that not all symptoms of polio manifest themselves at the onset of the disease.
This makes people especially mothers complacent in getting their children immunised and this eventually proves fatal.
A Public Health Nurse, Evangelina Adjei, expressed these sentiments at an immunisation training for volunteers in the La Dadekotopon Municipality in Accra.
She said if measures are not taken to ensure massive immunisation across the country, most children will end up deformed and this could affect the development of the country.
