Following the renewed violence between the rivals Nakpaa-Naa Salifu and Naa Andani supporters in Bimbila, the Military command in the area has imposed dusk till dawn curfew on Bimbila Township.
Some supporters of the two gates were engaged in a fierce gun battle on Friday during which one casualty was recorded.
The decision to impose the curfew on the area was meant to curtail any bloodbath. Reporting from Bimbila, Mohammed Aminu, a Journalist alleged that the uninformed Bimbila residents were chased by the military.
He said, Yesterday the military imposed a curfew on Bimbila town but the police said they were not aware that there is any curfew in town but the military went round and that injured a number of persons.
According to him the Bimbila constituency NDC Chairman was not spared. Even the Chairman of the NDC party, they even beat him ceased the NDC pickup from him and deflated the tyres of his tipper truck.
Mohammed Aminu said residents of the area vowed to resist any action by the military for which reason the Nanumba North District Security Council held an emergency meeting.
