Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu has indicated that an emergency meeting which was held on Tuesday between management and staff of the Agricultural Development Bank, ADB, ended in a deadlock.
The workers of ADB threatened to embark on an industrial action to insist that the Managing Director Stephen Kpordzih and Board of Directors step aside.
They have accused the board of conflict of interest and overseeing declining fortunes of the bank.
Speaking in an interview on Wednesday’s edition of ‘Kokrokoo’ programme, Haruna Iddrisu said they (government) had wanted to resolve the issue in the emergency meeting however, “there was a deadlock in terms of the positions that management and the union took.”
“I am satisfied with the progress we are making…ADB is receiving government critical attention… board, management and the union must look at the larger corporate interest of ADB and let us work to resolve the issues… They should stay away from engaging in media war…they must learn to co-exist but that doesn’t mean the issues will not be looked into” he said.
