A Kumasi Circuit Court has ruled over the thirteen (13) members of the pro-NPP vigilante group - "Delta Force" - who reportedly bolted from the courtroom when pandemonium broke out after the court ordered that they be remanded in custody.
There was unrestrained disorder at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Circuit Court days ago when the "Delta Force" stomed the law court to set free the 13 accused persons.
Following the invasion by the "Delta Force", the 13 accused persons reportedly absconded but later reported themselves to the Regional Police Command.
They were arraigned before Circuit Court 3 today.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Ekow Mensah ruling over the case, has fined each person a sum of GHC 2,400 equivalent to 200 penalty units and they were also made to sign a bond of conduct for 6 months or they will be jailed for 6months.
Peace FM's Ashati Regional Correspondent, Sampson Nyamekye filed a report on the morning programme 'Kokrokoo'.
Meanwhile, the accused persons are still standing trial with the offence on conspiracy to commit crime, assault on a public officer, causing unlawful damage and preventing a public officer from doing his lawful duty.
They will re-appear in court on 20th April for the case to be heard.

THIS MATTER SHOULDN`T HAVE GONE TO COURT ATALLLL!
The ruling is very good, simple if you sit in radio station affiliated to NDC and caution judges, it would be blown out of proportion by NPP and you will be sentence to 3 months and find GHS100,000.00 but if you indeed take action to free suspect in a lawful custody, harassed the judge you will get only 6 months and GHS2,400.00 Rule of law indeed. just be NPP affiliate and you can commit any crime the courts wont do you foko
ehhhh, NPP we arte to law listic papa, hmmm, we they are fined, that means Ghana is of good and descipline president right?, ok, i hope no one will cry when azorka boys invade kumasi in 2019 EC registration, i hope the police and military will be enough to protect the registration, voting etc and make us winners again, well to me, law is law but must be applied with COMMON SENSE, if nana thinks that by this action it means he is law abiding or will enforce the law, i say whoooooo, this comes no where near even a court.,this griou protected you, right in ma eyes at on yaa way to tafo, kwabre constituencies and even prophet kofi amponsah church, so even at all, if there is any chaos, calling the GBA , judge , regional party executives and the delta force leaders to get amicable solution i think would have helped, well seem we have soo soon forgetton about the importaance of DELTA FORCE bcx we have won, well its good but if i were a member of the DELTA FORCE, i would never accept any plea or padon fron nana, i will go to jail and learn a lesson, remember this group we call criminals today were our SHIELD & ANCHOR in 2016., the same law ,lecturers etc claiming you should step up at president to see they are jailed were same people in Ghana allowing mahama to misude and corrupt the system, where were they in ameri, subah, geeda etc deals, well if you think we are fo.ols, i say no p but i petty bawumia or alan in 2024 elections and i swear, no body can malign or intimidate WONTUMI or KEN AGYAPONG., if gabby and co want nana to be popular, it should be on maligning wontumi, ken or delta force but should rather look into the abysmal and the most weakest security team in the world of KAN DAPPAH, NITIWUL, DERRY, IGP. , the same prophet who prophsy ya victory said same in 2016 there is possible coup, nana reason up and allow ya good will stand stil, ya hand again delta force is against ASANTEMAN and i tell you, the few people appointed with their families enjoying hailing you cant guarantee you anymore good will, people are pived but are rather silent only for a reason, come to kumasi and ask, people know the good effort of delta force, have condemned the wrong aattack but at least not to the extent of court or jail., it wasnt good to allow in NDC but i dont think NPP has brought heave to earth that we de3, we should jail our own, if you want a proper case, arrest WOYOMI and get for uss the GHC 51.2M which is important and nt this non.seense or arrest and jail of ya own delta force. u can arrrest me and and willing to die even if, #DELTA FORCE, FORCES FOR EVER
Please read, these are fines imposed on them for aiding the accused persons to escape from lawful custody. It is a not a fine for manhandling the security coordinator.
I think this ruling is good. It brings peace to the matter. Afterall, the people have been asked to sign a bond of good behaviour. I like the ruling because it is not all of these cases that should be given jail sentences. If they break the bond they will have themselves to blame. I wonder why the first judge did what she did considering the people always reported at the police station and did not runaway.
Some people commenting as if they have not read the story. This judgement is on their running away from the court. The case on beating up the regional security liaison is still on. The 13 are facing two cases one for running away and the second for beating the security liaison officer.
Ghana works with laws and people are not just sentenced for the sake of it. People are just Block-ed Headed, a.k.a. 'Ti Bo Nkoso'. The fact that they are guilty doesn't mean they have to be killed. Away with you f00olishness.
I am just a F00OL who is on social media for NDC. The most F00OLISH person to ever comment on Peacefmonline, that is why they call me Koliko. I have no brains. I am just an 1diotte.
All those calling for the Firing Squad of the Delta Force Members must first arrest your NDC leadership for the murder of Atta Mills. Fire Burn You All.
If you watched the video of how the manhandled the security coordinator, to the extent of pushing him on the stairs and blood spilled over the place, one cannot fathom why this judge chose to give them fine. It means if he the socalled judge could be beaten mercilessly or be removed from his seat, and fine would be okay for him when another judge rules on that case. I now understand why rev Martey is now criticizing nana Addo that he is taking Ghana backwards.
