A Kumasi Circuit Court has ruled over the thirteen (13) members of the pro-NPP vigilante group - "Delta Force" - who reportedly bolted from the courtroom when pandemonium broke out after the court ordered that they be remanded in custody.
There was unrestrained disorder at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Circuit Court days ago when the "Delta Force" stomed the law court to set free the 13 accused persons.
Following the invasion by the "Delta Force", the 13 accused persons reportedly absconded but later reported themselves to the Regional Police Command.
They were arraigned before Circuit Court 3 today.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Ekow Mensah ruling over the case, has fined each person a sum of GHC 2,400 equivalent to 200 penalty units and they were also made to sign a bond of conduct for 6 months or they will be jailed for 6months.
Peace FM's Ashati Regional Correspondent, Sampson Nyamekye filed a report on the morning programme 'Kokrokoo'.
Meanwhile, the accused persons are still standing trial with the offence on conspiracy to commit crime, assault on a public officer, causing unlawful damage and preventing a public officer from doing his lawful duty.
They will re-appear in court on 20th April for the case to be heard.

Ghana indeed a fantastic banana Republic. I can't believe this. These corrupt judges are part of the problem in ghana.
This ruling is quite disappointing. Ghanaians are wide awake and are watching with eagle eyes everything that is going on. John mahama thought releasing montie 3 wouldn't have any impact on the 2016 election, but it was evident in the result that Ghanaians are increasingly becoming smart. You take the original judge out and bring your own judge to give a fine for this outrageous offence. I hope when someone steals someone fowl he will be given a fine but not go to jail from now on. Some judges can be quite ediots.
MY GOODNESS HOW IS THIS DETERRENT ENOUGH SO NOW IF YOU HAVE GHS2,400.00 YOU CAN GO INTO A COURT ROOM TO AND FREE A FRIEND OR BROTHER OR SISTER FROM THE ARM OF THE LAW.PLEASE I RESPECTIVELY DISAGREE WITH THIS RULING ALTHOUGH THE I RESPECT IT.THIS CANNOT DETER ANY TERRORIST FROM ENGAGING IN THIS CRIMINAL ACTS. THESE GUYS HAVE PAY MASTERS WHO ARE ON THE AIR BOSTING, TREATENING EVERY BOBY INCLUDING THE PRESIDENT AND A JUDGE FINDS IT FEET TO GIVE THIS JUDGEMENT.WELL THE LAWYERS MUST EDUCATE US ON THE PUNISHMENT FOR SUCH OFFENCES.
hahahaa jokers
Ghana under nana Addo is a joke. How can criminals be fined? No wonder they still have the guts to misbehave. Why was the original trial judge changed? If care is not taken Ghana would gradually become ungovernable and a failed state.
