Martin Amidu has claimed that former President John Mahama’s advice to Kenya’s opposition leader Raila Odinga following his defeat in the country’s election was cynical.
Mr. Mahama advised aggrieved Odinga and his party to go to court for justice after they raised concerns over the results of the elections which declared victory for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kenya’s Supreme Court has subsequently annulled the results of the polls describing it as flawed.
In a statement on the development, Mr. Amidu said the former Ghanaian leader thought the court would have merely affirmed the victory of the President since he had “benefitted from such a situation in the Presidential petition of 2013”.
“Coincidentally, the head of a group of the election observers is reported to be our own John Dramani Mahama whom activists of free, transparent and fair elections, and anti-corruption crusaders had accused during the 2016 Presidential election in Ghana of using his appointment powers under Articles 43 and 70 of our Constitution for a rigging agenda. Having won the 2012 Presidential elections by a razor thin edge vote of the Ghana Supreme Court, he was cynical in advising the losing party in the Kenyan elections to concede defeat or challenge the results in the Kenyan Supreme Court, in the belief that once incumbent Presidents are declared winners of an election their Supreme Courts normally docilely endorse the declarations of the Electoral Commission even in the face of the glaring rigging of the election.
“John Dramani Mahama had benefitted from such a situation in the Presidential petition of 2013 and cynically thought his good friend, the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, whom he had invited as the special guest of honour during Ghana’s independent Celebrations in 2016, would have the benefit of the docility of the Kenyan Supreme Court just as he was the beneficiary of Ghana’s razor thin edge Supreme Court decision in 2013. I also have no doubt that John Dramani Mahama’s cynical advice to Mr. Odinga was informed by past decisions of the Kenyan Supreme Court where incumbents have been declared winners of the Presidential elections and his personal experience in Ghana,” Amidu wrote.

so far Martin has not mentioned a single advice JDM gave that he see as cynical. Moreover advises are given as to you taking it is a personal choice but I think the fact that JDM has achieved what Martin couldn't achieve all his years is the reason for this animosity against JDM anyway he is entitled to his own opinion and the best thing to do is not to cowardly run and hind in London issuing write ups but rather come and face the party's disciplinary committee with any kind of evidence of corruption he has on JDM and any of his appointees so all Ghanaians how competent and credible he is.
Martin Lamici Amidu what kind of person are you , you hate person to his grave why why , what has JDM has done to you Martin you have chase him from home to Africa oooh Martin ,shame you are a ***barred word*** man
This bitter fat amidu guy should be stopped from appearing on national media, he is a disgrace and annoying and a liar, lost his credibility
Can Mahama ever do anything good in the eyes of Martin Hater Amidu? I don't think so.
It a clear indication that Amidus hatred for mahama is something deeper than we can imagine.could it be because Mahama was chosen to take your place as running mate to Attack Mills?. Mr Amidu your behavior towards this Manama is gradually exposing you. Please....! End it here.
Amidu is right. Mahama and his incompetent team said the elections was free and fair when they knew very well it was not. if he (Mahama) and his team had declared that the elections we inddeed fraught with irregularities before advising the opposition to go to court then that would have sounded better. But thinking that the Kenya's supreme court may be as weak as Ghana's he advised the man to go court. is he advising the man to go to court bcos he also believed the elections were rigged? or he was just trying to ***barred word*** him? this AU election observer mission or whatever they call it is us3l3ss to me. they just go to the place and sleep around with young girls. they do nothing. i remember Obasanjo in the 2012 elections. he went to congratulate Mahama before the EC announced the results. their presence alone is a rigging plan for the incumbent govt. thanks to the vigilance of the opposition.
Amidu is just a disgrace to democracy and rule of law. Your jealousy, bitterness and hatred for JDM.
from africa people Go back and look at your English again. Did JDM declare results? or he rather advice based on the concerned raised by the opposition.
Martin Amici is a disgrace. He isn't correct and is man of violence.
Am shocked at Martin Amidu on JDM's advice to the Kenyan opposition leader. What else does he expect from JDM. I beg Martin if he should continue on this tangent he will lose his respect in the eyes of the public, he should stop the jealousy and accept the reality and live with it. No matter what JDM was a president of Ghana and for that matter his president as well. You do not need to know everything before God blesses you. JDM is covered by the blood of Jesus and Gods hands are on him.
