Africa must confront the development model that has seen widespread devastation, destruction, chaos, displacement of people, loss of lives and critical infrastructure in various regional theaters, akin to the aftermath of world War 2. Recent events in Niger involving some members of a US special force(now said to be about a 1000 strong in a base)and militants, leading to the death of 4 of these US army personnel brings into very sharp focus, the need to address the fundamental economic issues of the regional body to ensure uniformity and the common position of Africa, which is captured by Agenda 2063. Under no circumstances should the African Leaders of our time and at this moment, relent in the pursuit of the goals that ensures prosperity, peace, stability, progress and protects the wealth of it's peoples. There is a much better development model and Africa must show the strongest determination, focus, will and firmness to stand for the values of our common humanity, in the face of chaos and destruction.
