The Private Medical Professionals Association has thrown its weight behind Dr. Dominic Obeng-Andoh, the Director of Obengfo Hospital, who has been remanded into custody for the death of Stacy Offei-Darko, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Entrepreneurship Innovative Programme (NEIP).
The group deny claims Dr. Obeng-Andoh of public assertion that the Doctor, who has been charged with the offence of operating without licence is a quack.
Speaking to Accra-based Atinka FM, Dr. Isaac Morrison, President of the Association, stated that Dr. Obeng-Andoh is a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Medical School and has been practicing for the past 20 years as a doctor in the country.
He revealed that the Obengfo Hospital boss was put on the permanent register of medical practitioners by the Medical and Dental Council in 2000 after completing his house job.
He, therefore, rejected the public claims that seemed to suggest the Dr. Obeng-Andoh is a quack medical practitioner.
He pointed out that the association is in no way defending Dr. Obeng-Andoh but that they are seeking to vouch for his integrity and qualification.
He indicated that the fact that a patient lost his or her life does not mean the doctor is a bad one or quack.
Meanwhile, records at the Obengfo Hospital indicate that, that was not the first time the late Stacy Offei-Darko had visited the facility.
According to the records, she has been frequenting the Advanced Body Sculpt Centre since 2014 for regular check-ups in preparation for her first liposuction surgery which was done in 2017.
The records cast doubt on her mother’s assertion that Ms. Offei-Darko went to the hospital for malaria treatment.
The record also showed that the deceased on May 27, 2017 did several liposuction surgeries at Obengfo Hospital which were successful.
Per the records, areas for the surgery included “Upper back, mid back, lower back, waist, upper abdomen, lower abdomen and love handles.
It also showed that the deceased consented to all the surgical procedures undertaken by Dr. Obeng-Andoh which were witnessed by one Debora.
This was contained in the hospital’s Patient’s Consent and Release statement.
Background
The medical doctor has already been remanded into custody by an Accra Magistrate Court for allegedly causing the death of Stacy Offei-Darko.
The deceased, according to police, went to the hospital for a liposuction and fat transfer surgery but died on May 21, 2018 at about 4pm while on admission after the surgery.

To me all these so called associations have lost their credibility,Are you people taught at medical school to bury your patients 3 hours after they have died without informing their relative and get them embalmed even without postmortem, nooonsens bunch of murderers always defending the evil
You are here defending this? Let it be unto your wives, children and descendants as it happened unto Stacy Offei-Darko. This Dominic Obeng-Andoh guy should have long been in prison and should have been prevented from even practising but for the corrupt nature of Ghana he is still in the system. I weep when a reputable station like Peace FM gets people like Nana Yaa Konadu to speak so nice about this Demonic Hospital as if they have been there themselves all because of your greed for money. Peace FM needs to vet what they advertise for and must not be Blind by the love of Money. You have a moral responsibility to the people of Ghana.
Simple. The deceased was a either a public figure or had connections with public figures. She was the former mistress and baby mama of womanizing ken agyapong. And giving the live styles of these ' so-called' slay queens they sleep with different diferent big men and as deputy CEO of NEIP it is possible she was connected to 'big' men in power so the guy had good reason to be afraid. He acted out of fear and panic! If it was any 'ordinary' person he would have buried the case. Unfortunate his net caught a fish bigger than the net could handle.
OK. Why then did he try to hide the corpse? Put her in the mortuary with his cleaner posing as a relative? why and why?
This is s~tup1d death!! Why do they risk their lives by doing the unthinkables? Ingesting pills and tablets to change their skin complexion from dark to light... If at a point you dont want to put on more weight, just cut down the size of your meals by half, at least. Eat more vegetables and fruits as well.
It's unfortunate that Dr Obeng has found himself in this challenge. occupational hazard. hmmmm. s3 asem anto woa, da
