The Ghana Police Administration has condemned the barbaric assault of a Police Officer, Frederick Amanor, on a nursing mother in the banking hall of Midland Savings and Loans.
A video of the Police Corporal beating up a woman carrying a baby has received public bashing after it went viral on social media and online news portals.
In the video, the Police Corporal could be seen using an umbrella to hit the woman several times before "boxing" and slapping her while the woman carried in her baby in defence.
Responding to the issue, the Police Administration, in a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com, has assured the general public that it has begun thorough investigations into the conduct of the Officer and pledged "the outcome of investigation into the Officer's conduct shall be published".
"Further, the Administration condemns the behaviour of the Officer as being contrary to professionalism and tenets of the ongoing Police Transformation Programme".
The Inspector-General of Police has also directed the Officer's immediate arrest for criminal processes to begin.
"The Administration has identified the Policeman as No. 50260 Lance Corporal Godzi Frederick Amanor, (popularly known among his colleagues as Skalla). He is stationed at Accra Regional Police Operations Unit.
The Administration has also issued a stern warning to all Police Officers to desist from any "human rights abuses and misconducts".

This is the Hour and moment of Truth. When you throw a Stone to the Wall, it comes back to hit you. I blame this unprofessional Policing on NDC and NPP Politicians. Who used their so-called unholy Protocol to push their uncivilized and uneducated Foot-Soldiers To Public Institutions like the: Military, Police, Fire Service, Immigration Customs etc, etc. I think the best solution is, all this Service personnel need to go back to Training. To learn everything all over again, to avoid future calamity like this. If not, the worse and unexpected is yet to come. Mark my word.
