Government’s quest to revamp and build a modern railway network across the country as an effective ground travel alternative is gradually becoming a reality after the commencement of the Western corridor rail line linking to Ivory Coast.
Latest in the series of these efforts is the recent construction of a new bridge over convertible gauge of a 5km stretch rail track at Kojokrom.
Sector Minister, Joe N. Ghartey has also confirmed to Peacefmonline.com that the construction of the Tema-Mpakadan rail network has also commenced.
“These are the Tema to Mpakadan line which is being undertaken by AFCONS an Indian company and on the Kojokrom to Manso section of the Western Line which is being undertaken by Amandi an Isreali company,” he said.
According to him, the Phase 1 project of the entire Railway Master Plan which involves rehabilitation of all existing lines, as a viable option critical to extractive mineral enclaves like the Western Region is near to completion.
However, the rehabilitation of the Eastern Line from Accra to Nsawam has been completed and will soon be opened for the public.

EIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII NDC PARTY YEEAAAAAAAAAAAA MOTU, STAY IN OPPOSITION FOREVER AND EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. THERE IS NO NEED FOR NDC AND OTHER PARTIES IN GHANA AGAIN OOOOOOOOOOOOOO. PRESIDENT NANA AKUFO ADDO DANQUAH IS ALWAYS FIRST IN THE 100 METRES DASH, WAIT FOR JDM ONAPO TUIIII AND THE OTHERS; AND CONTINUE THE RACE AND FINALLY WAS FIRSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
There is lies in this article. the stretch from Accra to Nsawam has never been completed. They are still doing grounds work at Dome. they have never touched the Dome to Nsawm stretch. Squaters are still there doing thier own thing
GOD IS GREAT. GHANA HAS TAKEN ITS BEST CLOTH AGAIN UNDER NPP AKUFFO ADDO'S GOV'T.
let give credit when credit due and not create an impression that nothing was done to the current railway system under JM. The whole Sekondi/Takoradi rail system up to Kojokrom was done and commission by JM before he left power. Those of us in Sekondi/Tadi including Hon. Joe Ghartey can attest to that. Its good this project is being continued by this administration.
GHANAIANS SHOULD JUST IMAGINE THERE WAS NO CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT IN 2016. GHANAIANS WOULD HAVE BEEN SELLING THEIR CHILDREN IN ORDER TO BUY FOOD, BECAUSE ALL THE MONEY WAS CHOPPED LEAVING BARE BONES ACCORDING TO JOHN MAHAMA AND THE NDC PARTY. GOD BROUGHT THE CHANGE TO SAVE GHANA FROM TOTAL DESTRUCTION. GOD BLESS OUR HOMELAND GHANA AND MAKE HER GREAT AND STRONG.
Ghana is working again under this NPP govt
Ghanaians are not asking much. All they want to see is their country working again. EVeryday, I browse Ghana websites looking for signs of progress in my beloved country and that is all I am asking for. Until recently, I was convinced the blackman cannot do anything for himself. But Nana has proved me wrong and he should continue to do so. Hope is a powerful thing and I will take any sign of hope over negativism any day. We are tired of we can't do this, cant do that. We want to be able to tell our white folks who look down on us that the african can make it. Notably though, the media has no interest in the progress of the government and discussing it so the ordinary ghanaian can know about it and get involved. I look at radio panelists complain and complain and ask myself,"how many of these social commentators are participating in planting for food and jobs"? Most likely none. My desire is that the headlines should be balanced, giving us both positives and the shortfalls. But as it is now, it is always negative, creating the impression abroad that nothing is going on in Ghana. I am done.
So far so good. However, nothing heard about the eastern corridor: Koforidua-Nsawam-Akim Oda-Achiase-Fosu. Nevertheless, congrats so far. Don't allow the evil one, NDC, detract you.
FORWARD EVER, BACKWARD NEVER, GHANA IS ON THE MOVE.
This is what we call development, NOT propaganda. It reminds me of the days of our first President Osagyefo, who rolled out development projects throughout the nook and cranny of our country. Now I know there is hope for my motherland. Please, my countrymen & women, my humble plea is that let's put politics aside and rally behind the government. We have played politics with our country (and our destiny) for a long; it did not do us any good! Let's leave a lasting and tangible legacy for our children. Osagyefo did his part. Nana is now doing his part. Kudos to Nana
