Former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Opuni Frimpong has asked church leaders to 'pursue the discontinuation of death predictions on National leaders'.
He says the media especially must stop providing "oxygen to the death predictions for public decency and maturity of religious practices to thrive".
He further intimated in a statement that ministers of the gospel who understand the prophetic gifts and ministry must intensify Christian Education on the subject both in their congregations and other Media platforms.
"Christian Mutuality and Best Practices in matters of faith cannot be compromised...Like in other countries, I have not heard Churches/Pastors from South Korea, France, Germany, UK, Canada, USA etc frequently predicting or discussing the death of their leaders being it Political, Religious, Traditional, Entertainment etc in Public in the name of Prophecy.
The accumulated evidence of public decency and best practices of healthy relationships must inform the church/prophets on our Public dealings with others. The Church in Ghana must be of better example to others in the African Continent," he added.

Church Leaders and Media must pursue dis-continuation of death predictions on National Leaders-
I have not heard Churches/Pastors from South Korea, France, Germany, UK, Canada, USA etc frequently predicting or discussing the death of their leaders being it Political, Religious, Traditional, Entertainment etc in Public in the name of Prophecy.
The accumulated evidence of public decency and best practices of healthy relationships must inform the church/prophets on our Public dealings with others. The annual pronouncements of death of national leaders has not being beneficial.
We must protect the healthy relationship between the church and public officials including church and Muslim relationships. May be this is the time the Media must stop providing Media Oxygen to the death predictions for public decency and maturity of Religious practices to thrive.
Political leaders who are affiliated to sources of such predictions will do the nation a lot of good if they can distance themselves from death predictions on others.
Moreover, Ministers of the Gospel who understand the prophetic gifts and ministry must intensify Christian Education on the subject both in their congregations and other Media platforms.
Christian Mutuality and Best Practices in matters of faith cannot be compromised. The Church in Ghana must be of better example to others in the African Continent.
‘Tell the Righteous it shall be well with them’. Isaiah 3:10

I have always had that idea; that GIJ should be a graduate school and then a separate institution to Licence journalists. If one wants to practice without such Licence then slayqueen/king kind of journalism is open to all. Journalists reporting on issues must be personally liable for the content.
Ghana must sit up against fake religion. Ghana is not a jungleeee. It is a country of rule of law which the President and the executive, the Parliament the Judicially, the Security Services and all citizens must protect. In this Owusu Bempah Saga, those who embarked on the attack on persons and destruction of properties must be sought to face the law. If they think their rights and freedom were infringed upon they should report the matter to the appropriate authorities for redress. What the Muslim Youth did was brutishhh and uncivilized. On the other hand, Owusu Bempah must also be arrested and charged for embarking on action which was potential to incite to cause violence and indeed it did cause fear tension and violence. We expect the police, the Courts Parliament, the Presidency and all in Ghana to be up-and-coming in this 2019 to avoid senselesss disorder in the country. The whole world, especially, Africa is looking to Ghana with hope and we should not disappoint them. We all in or from Ghana know all the fake churches in Ghana - Adarkwa, Obinin. Badu Kobi, Owusu Bempah and many many others. Unfortunately we all sit down unconcerned and so many of our people are deceived and exploit. If the good Christian establishments in Ghana fail to act to save Christianity, the existence of the fake churches will bring a serious attack on Christianity and religion in Ghana. Fr.POP
Lack of education is our major headache. people. it is an illiterate population that enjoys and respect such fake pastors. the journalist who propagate it themselves are are illiterates who can just talk loud. they are journalist but do not know what they report on. environment, medical , research , finance , they have nothing to report on . just hear say. until GIj becomes a graduate where you cannot go unless you already have a profession Ghana will not change
Thanks for Rev Dr Opuni Frimpong, for coming out against the death-prophesies. We all know that what is happening in the church in Ghana is not good and christian leaders must take a stand against it. Hope, more pastors will condemn it. The church in Ghana is in need of reformers and those reformers must come from within the church like Martin Luther.
