The youth at Kojokperi community in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District on Wednesday September 24, laid ambush in the night and lynched a suspected armed robber.
The deceased, Sule Jallu and believed to be a Fulani was said to be in the company of two other robbers who robbed Azuma Jaalu, another Fulani herdsman of GH₵ 2,500 and a motorcycle at Duu in the Wa East District.
Jallu�s alleged accomplices whose names were not given managed to escape.
Mr Iddris Adam Annaakaa, Assembly member of Kojokperi told Ghana News Agency that when the suspected robbers succeeded in robbing Jaalu and left the scene, the suspect met one Mr Mahama Tamimu, a cattle dealer and told him about the incident.
Mr Tamimu informed the youth of Kojokperi about the robbery and pleaded with them to be on the lookout for the robbers.
When the mob spotted Sule with the motorcycle, he took to his heels and was pursued and pelted with stones.
Mr Annaakaa said Sule was once arrested with a Fulani herdsman by members of the Kojokperi Community in July this year for robbing a man of his motorcycle at Wellembelle in the Sissala East District.
However, when they were handed over to the Wa Police, Sule was released.
