The 14 junior and senior house officers that were sacked from the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman have been reinstated.
Sources revealed that the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) and the Catholic Bishops Conference acted as mediators in convincing the Catholic Health Service to reinstate the doctors.
An official letter to this effect will be issued early next week.
The Catholic Health Service is however declined to comment publicly on the issue until the doctors are officially notified of their recall to duty.
The 14 doctors had their appointments terminated after showing solidarity with the GMA when they laid down their tools in protest against government’s inability to present them with their conditions of service.
Management of the hospital had argued that the action by the doctors contradicted the principles of the Catholic Church which does not believe in using strikes to get labour issues addressed.
