About 2,647 teachers have had their salaries for this month suspended by the Controller and Accountant General.
This is as a result of failure on their part to provide their social security numbers during the cleaning of the payroll as part of the Public Financial Management Reform programme.
Reports say 3,794 public sector workers in total were affected as they failed to provide their social security numbers during the process.
Already, the affected employees have been informed.
