President John Mahama has promised the working force of the country of better conditions as the economy grows.
He said his government is appreciative of the relationship that has existed between them and labour since he assumed office.
“We are grateful to organised labour for the peacefull cooperation and relationship over the years. And I promise even better years ahead as our economy grows from strength to strength,” Mr Mahama said when he addressed members of the NDC at Sunyani in Brong Ahafo region.
His comments come even as some organised labour groups including GHOSPA and railway workers are agitating over their placement on the single spine pay structure and poor remuneration, respectively.
The Mahama government has arguably faced more labour agitations than any other government under the 4th republic. According to him, the economic indicators under his administration suggest that the Ghanaian economy has performed much better over the last eight years than it did before the NDC came to government.
The President who has already given highlights of the manifesto said the various promises being made are practical and achievable.
He said the manifesto aims at putting people first, accountable governance and expanding infrastructure for job creation.

This president has been promising better living conditions for a long time. No one is bold to call him out. Did he not give time lines for dumsor? After 4 years he then claims this has been the fastest deployment of power. Google his speeches and you would see that he promised a better year in 2014,2015 and 2016. Now he is promising a better year in 2017. Remember that NDC itself admits the economy is challenged.Who brought us down this challenging path? Albert Einstein said "Isanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result".NDC has no new thinking, they will do worse in 2017 and beyond when given the mandate. I end with two more quotes from Einstein. a) We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. NDC's thinking is to create, loot and share that is why all the corrupt cases has yielded nothing in the courts because opana is also corrupt. We need a leader who can imagine or think far. Einstein final quote b) Imagination is more important than knowledge. Nana has that imagination or vision. We need such a man for Ghana come 2017. Remember NDC has nothing new to offer the future is bleak with them.
