A daughter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akyem central constituency Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Adwoa Agyarkwa Anyimadu- Antwi has hanged herself to death.
The 18 -year old first year chemical engineering student was found dead on Friday morning in her hostel room with a rope hanging her neck.
It is unclear what might have triggered the suicide but sources at KNUST campus say she failed one of her courses and couldn’t bear the shame hence the suicide.
A note the brilliant deceased left behind states ‘am sorry to disappoint you mummy and daddy’.
According to sources, the school authorities have informed the family about the incident where messengers were sent to Parliament in Accra to also inform the father.
Majority of the students are saddened by the situation.
The body has been deposited at KNUST hospital in Kumasi.

i live close to them and i have met her one or two times and she doesnt seem to be the kind of person who would kill herself so please the police should investigate
This is very quite unfortunate incident, But am very shock she could do that . Looking at kind of home she is from. Charlie some of us are even toiling by our self with God helps to make our future bright, and how much more an MPs daughter. Why could you do such a ***barred word*** thing with just a failed in a course? There is something more fishing. People have more worst problem than yours and they still have hope. But am sorry this a very ***barred word*** dead indeed. RIP
So if you believe this young woman took her own life because of some bad grades then we have parents to blame for that for putting the fear of God in her over the years for past failed exams during her basic education. But I believe that she might have got caught up in some relationship issues or other social issues that brought great stress and shame to her and by extension her family. There is nothing new under this Sun and therefore no matter what she was going through it could have been resolved and she would have lived another day. The taking of her life is a cowards way of addressing an issue unless she had some undiagnosed mental issue then that is something else altogether. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones. No one should ever go out of this world like this.
Suicide is a result of an underlying mental condition. We, in our society do not pay attention to mental disorders. There must have been some depression. God help her family.
Some of the lectures and HOD's must be investigated cos most of them take advantages of these young ladies and they are left with lots of emotional trauma. Anyone involve in this young lady's act shouldn't go unpunished. RIP girl.
Hmmmm I don't know her but am really sad. she shouldn't have no matter the situation.we just have to pray for her soul.
@ SEE SOME SOMETHING i agree with u ditodito i labour all my life to complete my sch wanted to go further bt there isnt any help hw i wish i got some 1 to be of help to mi
Adwoa, May your soul rest in perfect peace. Condolences to the family. Parents should sit up and friends should be observant and each others keeper. The suicide note tells a lot. Investigators should interrogate the issues and come out with the bare facts for FUTURE GENERATIONS.
I believe families, friends and schools authorities should always teach people about over coming storms in life.it may come in different forms, from breakups, failing an exams, sacked from work,.it not the end of the road but a curve .we must get centres in every consitutency to help counsel people .As our nation turns 60 ,we can use the moment to give our older folks the opportunity to mentor and guide us the young ones.may her soul rest in peace.
Kwame, accept my condolences.
