Police in Accra have arrested 17 women, including two nursing mothers, suspected of engaging in prostitution at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle last night.
The Nima Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Abraham Acquaye confirmed the arrests to Citi News, revealing that several used condoms were retrieved, following a search of some of the rooms. “Yesterday we conducted the exercise between the hours of 10 and 12 pm.They are being screened for the necessary offences.
Meanwhile we are holding them for the offences of prostitution. “We monitored the [suspects]; they were soliciting for prostitution, the way they were dressed, their demeanor – they themselves have admitted it. Some of the women, when they saw us, fled. The men also fled. We inspected some of the rooms and we seized condoms including used ones from them.” Nine men were also arrested in the sting after they attacked the police officers who were rounding up the suspected prostitutes. “When we were effecting the arrests, they attempted to attack us so we had to fight back by firing about two warning shots to scare them.
In the process, we were able to bring them under control,” Chief Superintendent Abraham Acquaye said.

Would be better if police spent time fighting more serious crime of which Ghana has too much
You copied from citifmonline.com and they were responsible enough not to show their faces... but because of "your standard" you couldn't get it right. too local
what has one factory got to do with this? do you think all of them are coming from poor homes?Go to the prisons and listen to some of them their stories and you will be amazed! some of them are there due to peer pressure, some because they want their freedom they leave home, and some even for the fun of it. go to the universities and check the number of girls involved in these activities. Just look at the age range it is terrible
seriously i dont understand some Ghanaians oo...when the police arrest people who induldge in criminal activities trouble if they dont trouble what do you want the police to do? these people usually rely on drugs in order to induldge in these activities and because of that they usually become petty ***barred word*** in order to afford the drugs. Looking at the girl in blue in the 1st pic i cant imagine her life being wasted like that.she is so beautiful and doesnt deserve to be there but the right thing must be done.
Please leave them alone .. they are using condoms..Ghana is hot ohh....is very sad in this country only the politicians and others are enjoying but the rest we are suffering, poor ..One day Judgement day will come ...we have Gold , Diamond, timber , oil , all the resources but yet they made us poor and hustle ...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Asem oooh. I BELIEVE WHEN THE FACTORY COME IS WILL HELP. BUT THEY HAVE TO REMMMENBER THAT AIDS IS REAL. THE LADIES AM SEEING ARE BETWEEN 18 TO 24 . WHY
Very unethical to show their faces. Anyway the one district one factory is not available yet so let them do it for a living at the moment till the much touted factories are ready, allow Ghanaian men to enjoy otherwise they may come home to rape our little sisters or children
