The Krachi East District Assembly hopes to collaborate with the RLG
Communications, an indigenous mobile phone assembly company in Ghana to bring information communication technology ICT to the door steps of people in the district.
A major step taken towards the fulfillment of this dream is the
construction of an ICT centre at Dambai the district capital.
Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, District Planning Officer, Yakubu
Mohammed Hardi disclosed that the facility under construction is expected for completion soon.
He said the Assembly hopes to use its District Development Fund to build more ICT centres to help students and the general public to acquire skills in ICT.
He said the decision by RLG communication to partner a number of
districts to develop ICT skills of students is a welcome address and
indicated that the Krachi East hopes to cash on that opportunity extended to others.
Government of Ghana has already gotten into agreement with RLG
Communications to supply computers to a number of schools across the country to make acquisition of skills in the sector easier and
affordable.
