The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected its constituency executives with Mr Kofi Ofori as the Chairman.
Mr Ofori, aged 38 and a businessman, polled 99 out of the 201 votes to beat three other contestants, including the incumbent chairman, Mr Samuel Aidoo, who had 13 votes. Alhaji Edi Abulai obtained 97 votes to beat Mr Joseph Arthur-Hagan who had 93 to become the Secretary while Mr Bright Kwamena Gyasi polled 125 votes to be elected the Treasure.
Other executives elected were Mr Paul Kofi Aboagye the Organizer, Mr Mubarak Mohammed Watara, the Propaganda Secretary, Mr Eric Dadson, Youth Organiser and Miss Dora Baffoe, Women Organizer.
Mrs Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, the District Chief Executive, advised the members to tolerate each other's views and contribute their quota towards the development of the party and the district. Mr Allotey Jacobs, Central Region Propaganda Secretary and Mr Ania Adjei, Central Regional Secretary of the party, cautioned the executives not to lord their position on the members but rather they should collaborate with them to ensure that the party wins the 2012 election.
Mr Ofori appealed to the members of the party to burry their differences and to support the new executives. He said he and the new executives would not abuse the trust reposed in them.
