The government has appealed to organised labour to suspended its planned strike action pencilled for July 24.
A two-paragraph statement issued by the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu, said organised labour should reconsider the decision and rather engage government in constructive dialogue and consultations with a view to addressing the issues raised within the constraints of the national budget and the overall performance of the economy.
Organised Labour Friday called on its members to down their tools on July 24 in protest of worsening economic situation in the country and measures government was taking to address the challenges.
